I am putting new bearings on my haybine, on the wobble box.. got it all cleaned up and ready to put 'em in.. and I forgot how they go in! guess I should have looked closer last fall when I took it apart. ;p( so if you know how they go in there could you let me know how? first bearings I ever had to replace so I ain't got a clue.. a picture would be even better! THANKS!

Hi Tim,

I didn't have mine apart; I just tightened up the bearings to the proper preload. I know one thing, it would be a heck of a lot easier to work on out of the machine. That back bearing is a stinker to get to.

It appears to just be a stub axle with a bearing on each end. I would think that if you center the thing and torque the bearing to 2 lbs preload on each end, you'd be in business.

The laterial preload is controlled by shims under those side caps. You just remove a shim until the lateral endplay is gone.

I can"t help ya, but wave your hands and get Allan"s attention. Couple of posts down he mentioned replaceing the wobble box bearings in his New Holland Mo-Co.
