Ford 7810S tractor feedback

Looks like we have found a 2-WD Ford 7810S to add to our farming operation. Looks to be a pretty good machine with only 900 hours on the tach. No leaks or strange sounds from the engine, hydraulic pump or rear end. Just wondering if any has previous experience with this tractor. We currently run a Ford 4610 and 1600 and had a 6600 previously. All are and have been good tractors. Thanks...

Thanks to all for your comments. I have been using Fords for years now and this tractor appears to be the real deal. The teenagae boys found it in one of the new/used iron papers, it was at a JD dealer 3 hours away. We did a road trip to check it out and ended up putting down a depostit. The final, as is delivered price is $16K, which seems to be a fair deal for this tractor. Once again thanks to all for your input.

It is basically a 7610 except instead of a turbo 268, it has a naturally aspirated 401. All that means is it will cost a little more to overhaul the engine, but with the addition of the turbo on the 268 which isn't going to last forever (well, maybe it will... lol) it will all work out even. It will also have a little bigger oil sump, but that shouldn't make too much of a difference, maybe 3 or 4 quarts more at most I would think. 10 series fords are about as bullet proof of a tractor that you could get up until recently (guess they weren't making enough off of parts and service for them lol). They are extrememly simple to work on if you ever need to. I know that I have had our 7610 split in about 5 hours by myself for the most part (had to call someone over to help me every once in a while to hold a wrench or something) and I was 15 at the time, but love to turn wrenches. If the price is right and you need a 90 hp tractor, you can't go wrong with a 10 series ford.

I would say go for it if looks pretty good like you say if it is an S it came standard with the the old 8*2 transmission which is almost bullet proof these powerstar tractors really the S is like the old 10 series with new sheet metal in other words the last of the best I have grown up with Ford tractors NAA 3600 5000 (one owner), 7610 6600 6610 TW20 TW30 and lately 3930 4wd you can't bet em they run forever
