how do you time the bale plunger and the knotting mechanism on a nh 270 wire tie bailer?

You should buy a manual, it is the best $20 you can spend. I believe the timing method is as follows. The crank arm that runs the plunger should be straight up, and there will be marks on the baler that you position it between. The feeder chain has a stud coming out of it where the feeder arm attaches. That needs to be positioned between a set of marks that you will see if you remove the back sheild. (They are on the bottom left of the opening where the shield covers). Finally, the knotter is chain driven. Where the chain drives the knotter there will be two marks, one on the drive for the knotter and one on the frame of the knotter. They need to be lined up with each other. Once this is done, its in time.
