I have access to a 469 New Holland Haybine. The machine appears to need one U-joint and a couple of belts. The sickle and guards are good. The rollers however are another story. Almost all of the rubber is gone off of them. I can get this machine for free, but how much would new rollers cost and is scrap yard the only place to get them? How hard of a job is it to change them out and would it even be worth it. I cut all of my hay with a disk mower, but would like to have a conditioner for sudan, millet etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I just purchased a 469 from a local dealer he got it as a trade only problem the bottom roller was losing rubber he said he would replace both with remanufactured ones apparently they must not be priced too high considering what I paid for the complete unit,

Rollers are a heck of a job to put on and cost big $$ thats why so many get scrapped out

taking into consideration that the 469 haybine hasn't been in production since 1972 or so I would guess that rollers would be expensive. Although, I have found that New Holland still maintains parts for many of their older equipment. You could always inquire. It never hurts to ask. I've had good luck with my 469, bought it used and have been restoring it alittle at a time every year. (Really needs some new tin but I have decent rollers.)

If you decide to pass on it, I sure would like to have a 469 for parts... any chance your in or near central Indiana?

Hey guys,
West Central Ohio here.
I have a 469 haybine sitting in the weeds that is definitely a parts machine. It has rusted frame, but good cutter bar & wobble box, tires, etc. Email me back if interested

Rexalot,

I am in western KY (Marion, KY to be exact) I don't know how far north you are but if you want it I'll see if I can't get it for you. I don't know how to haul it unless you used a roll back wrecker and took the tongue off. I'll try to get some pictures if you want. My email is [email protected]
