Vermeer 605K questions?

The only problem I had was tying. The string would come off the ends. After doing 2 bales with auto tie I went and used the manual tie. It did fair then. Any idea why the string is coming off the ends when I use the auto tie. The bale looks to be full across, not smaller on the ends, but hard to tell by just looking. I may take the belts off and make sure they are all the correct length

When the bale kicker kicks the bale out it seems to mess it up some, is this normal? The back side of bale looks great, but front side looks ragged.

Also I do not have autoweave on baler so I have to drive back and forth to make a bale. The monitor seems to tell me to changed directions every so often, my question is the monitor going by what is in the bale chamber or is it preset to tell me to change direction ever so often, no matter how much hay is on one side of the bale?

Think I am going to like this baler once I get everything figured out it is a good bit different then my old F baler.

Any help or suggested greatly appreciated

There is a switch that controls when the twine arms stop for the end wraps. This switch will need to be adjusted. It explains this well in the operators manual. If you don't have a manual call Vermeer and they will send you one. Go to there web site to find the phone number. www.vermeerag.com When you dump the bale turn the pto off. This keeps the drum roller and the belts from skuffing up the bale. The K baler monitor tells left to right based on an adjustable timer. The newer balers use senors on the belts.

Don't have a K, but the twine falling off the end sounds like the twine tube is going over too far. Don't know if there is some mechanical linkage that can be adjusted or if there is a problem with the computer in the monitor.

As I understand it there are sensors that tell if one side is getting less hay rather than some timing mechanism. I always just drive on one side of the windrow for a while, then switch to the other and the center of the bale will take care of itself. I also stop the pto after wrapping and before dumping the bale which keeps the bale looking better. Less wear on the baler also.
