Planter is a Bridger rowrunner. have dry fertilizer hoppers, but had spread the fertilizer for this spot and left the hoppers off. great little planter - wish they still made them.

Good pictures and your Dad sure looks proud sitting up there. I'm near Cherokee and do mine with a newly refurbished 8N and a Covington planter. We have had so much rain this year, I still haven't got mine planted. Not a major issue though since it is just about 4 acres for the deer and turkey. I have planted over in June before and with a little luck made enough corn to attract and feed the deer and turkey.

About 1/2 the cotton crop here is still not in the ground either on area farms.

very wet here this week. had something over 8 inches in last 10 -12 days. planning on planting about 1/2 acre for the deer/animals here as soon as it drys up. also will plant about 5 acres in sunflowers by mid june. still have to plow up the ground but that won't take long.

i think he actually thinks that tractor could "pull h**l off its foundation". it was always his favorite even after i bought some modern ones to do the heavy work.

People like your dad are a national treasure. They have a lot of knowledge about plain living and how to get things done 'cause they "lived" it. They always amaze me!!
Thanks again for posting those pictures. It brought back some good memories of my dad and his brothers... Things are just to fast and complicated now. Give him a hug for me and tell him the Lord loves farmers - Adam was a farmer ya' know!!
