Got a neighbor down the road running two of these during planting season. Of course he has 5000 acres of cotton and about 2000 acres of corn. It is a heck of a rig watching it run though. Fellow also put in his own silo operation last year with corn dryer. He's not a little operator at all. A lot of the cotton fields are irrigated with settling pond water off of a nearby fertilizer plant. It's odd to see the water running when it's raining but I guess they have to pump it on a schedule.

Been so much rain here lately though that only about 1/2 the cotton crop is in the ground. Locally, May 20 is the optimum day for planting cotton with yield dropping daily past that date. Fields are so wet that it might be another 10 days before they can get back in the fields with more rain in the forecast.

Hope he"s not counting on making a profit anytime soon - maybe his great grandchildren will see a couple of bucks!!

Think he'll trade planters? Just have to hook up a triple hitch to pull it behind our Oliver 1600, 1855, and Massey 285...
