hello again. I wnat to build a set of 3 point hitch drags but I have never seen any before. I was wondering if any one had any ideas or had a set that they could take a few pictuers of so that I could get some ideas where to go with this project. I wanted to make a small set of transport drags but my tractor has no external hydroclic ports so thats out so I thought that the next best thing would be 3 point hitch. any hepl with this is very much apperciated to say the least!

Thank in advance for all your help

As stated below, a drag can be quite a number of different things to different people. But, here's how I transport my spike harrow, length of railroad iron, old bed springs, and tire drag (all of which are used for various "drag" purposes). I attach my 3 point pole boom. Then I attach the drag to the hitch. I run a chain from the back of the drag to the end of the boom and lift it. When I get to where I'm going I just lower the boom, unhook the chain, raise the boom and off I go.

Baciscally, you need a 15 foot toolbar that you can attach some horizontal member to that holds up the harrow sections. Salvage yard- find a 6rn cultivator frame. Quarter by two by two angle iron should hold the tine or spike tooth harrow sections- attach them to the topside of the toolbar. Length- 2/3 the size of the section. Attach chains on the front underside of the toolbar to tow the sections. Chains coming down from the 2x2s lift the sections. Do a search for J.R. Kovar Company, Anoka, MN. Might still be in business- they used to build harrows and transports.

There are so many different ideas on what a drag is that we have no idea what you are looking for or what you call a drag. A drag can in areas be a spike tooth harrow and other areas it is just a couple of wood planks nailed together so what are you thinking of?
