Dickey-John Monitor Problem

I have a six row planter with a Dickey-John Model DJ3S-6 Monitor. I am having problems with rows 2-3-6. When the planter is setting in the up position, if I run the sensor cleaning bush thru them (2,3&6) the alarm goes off. If I run it thru the other three sensors it does not go off. I bought the planter used and did not get the correct manual for it. I have removed the three connectors on each sensor and cleaned them. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks In advance.
Ben C.

I bought a JD7000 a few years ago with a 'bad' monitor. JD tech son borrowed the dealer's tester and found all ok. Works fine if I unplug the connector at the tractor about 1/8 inch. Poor contact in connector. Monitors are generally customer unserviceable- dealer can tell you where to send it. Monitors have never let me down in 30 years- always been right, even if I didn't believe them. Would rather plant at night with one than daytime without one. But yeah- Allan's technique is always a good backup plan.

Hi Ben,

I had one of those gizmos once that came new with a new planter.

Fought the silly thing for two years and finally got fed up, ripped it off and threw it away.

Didn't like it at all. More trouble with the monitor than any planter trouble. Just got to watchin' the ground as I lifted the planter out and paid attention to the "dribble" at each row.
