I need help, I was at a small scrap dealer who happened to have a Heston haybine, 12 ft. Hydra-swing. I can't remember the model, think it was 1410? Maybe 1210? Anyways, he said he bought it from a near by farmer out of his shed, the guy rents all of his land abd he wanted to get rid of it. He can't remember what the owner said was wrong with it, but the other guy is still around so I would be able to ask him. Scrap dealer said he would sell it for maybe $4-500, unless the torch gets it first. It looked almost like a PT-10 to me, but I don't know very much about Heston. We rented a 14' model a few years ago and I got spoiled. What model is this? I may go back this week and get some more info.

We've a Hesston 500, 1014, and 1345. The 500 needs a new auger sheet metal, I'll have to make. The 1014 was made likely in the 1970's. Still going strong using it right beside the new rotorary 1345. We've had our 1014 for years buying it used. Have had no major problems, just fixing whatever needed. Usually a rusted out part the last few years. And learning to pay particular attention to millwrighting the alignments of moving parts in relation ship to fixed parts. If you should bye it get back to me for miner specific problems.

Probly a 1014 12' model. I have and use a 14'. works OK. In a good patch I can run 5 acres an hour. 4-500 is fair price. Will probly need all new guards. Pumps can be pricey new but a lot of good used ones around. I give $1000 for mine 4 years ago put all new bearings in crimper and auger, new guards and sickle. close to $1500 invested but market in area is $3000 for a used one.

I'm not sure of their exact age, but we had a 1014 about 10yrs ago. It wasn't the worst machine i've ever ran, but it had its moments when a scrapper could have bought it from us pretty cheap. I like the process of conditioning hay, but didn't like that machine.

Looked back in the forum, came up with 1012. That sounds right. How old are these machines?
