Help with Grain Drill

I got a old grain drill from a auction last winter. I can not find a manufacturer or a model number on it. But I have gotten parts off 2 other grain drills that look the same but so can not find any ID on them. All I know is that all of them are red with low profile rubber wheels. I'm trying to find out where to set it for seeding oats and grass.

If anyone can help I would appretiate it.

I have it all working now and just need to learn how or where to start. Thanks Jeff

Thanks it is a McCormick I found a part number whith the IHC buy it and used a wire brush and a white marker to see what the setting indicator said. Does anyone have a chart or a book that tells how many peck per acre? Thanks again Jeff

My IHC I set up for not quite 3 bu oats per acre, around 2 bu of wheat or rye per acre. 4 pecks to the bu. Cut that by 1/3 or so if underseeding alfalfa and you want the alfalfa more than the grain.

What I do is set it so that it will drop two seed at once. Then drill a little ways and count the seeds it dropped in a one foot square,usually 12-14 seeds. It takes alittle trial and error and some using a pencil but that should get you started.

Not all grain drills have a grass seeder attachment on them.

It may be a IHC McCormick Model M grain drill ?

A picture would help.
