Just bought one of these. The model and serial number plate lists the model as 894-A. Trying that in the JD publications online search comes up "empty". I knew there is a model 896 rake so I typed that in for a search and back came 894A, 896, 896A, all in the same series of rakes. So I went back to the search and typed in 894A and back came the same response as for 896. The search doesn"t like the dash between the "4" and the "A" although the plate on the rake definitely has the dash. Just thought i"d post this to give others a clue if they come up "empty" on certain searches.

I hope you found the manuals for your rake. The ones you mentioned are considered a 890 series and OME16343 Operators Manual and PC615 Parts Catalog covers the 894, 894A, 896, & 896A hay rakes. Always leave the dashes out and try using exact model search there or by changing the model number to a series number if nothing comes up. Same thing for a 851 and 855 hay rakes are considered a 850 series and they are both covered in the same manuals. You might also find it useful when parts searched at JD parts site come up as invalid to search again leaving any dashes out and R or letter off end of parts number. The early manuals with dashes in the number can also be searched for price on JD part site but always leave the dashes out of the manual numbers.
