Harry Ferguson Plow Vs. Allis Chalmers B

I recently came into possession of a 1945 Allis Chalmers B with a 3 point hitch conversion. It runs quite well. According to my findings, this tractor pulled a 1 16" bottom plow. When I purchased my property, it had a Harry Ferguson 14A 2 bottom plow. I haven't done a lot of digging into it, but I'm assuming that's 2 14" bottoms. My property is largely light sand. Does anybody know if an AC B will pull said implement? Does anybody know where I can find parts, i.e. plow points, etc. for said implement? Does anybody know where I can find any information on said implement? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are near Minnesota and wanted to buy the correct plow for your tractor my old cousin has two 1 bottom plows, a cultivator and a buzz saw for an Allis that he'd part with reasonable.

Your friendly AGCO/M-F Dealer can help. try and get the model number off the serial tag and take it and they can probably order you a manual. Most Ferguson parts are still available as that was the backbone of Massey-Ferguson when it was consolidated in the 1950s.

I guess for your plow, since the sandy soil will be light in draft, try it and see what happens - if anything it will probably polish up the surface of the shares and moldboards so the soil won't stick that much.

Unfortunately, my "friendly AGCO-MF dealer" isn't so friendly. I live in SW Michigan and frankly they've been jerks any time I've tried to deal w/ them. If we're just talking about a manual, etc., does anyone know of a "friendly" one near me?

I go to Mayer Farm Equipment in Jeffersonville, OH. They do internet orders too. Also, these guys were a Allis-Chalmers/Deutz-Allis dealer before they were an AGCO Dealer, so you might want to check out their website (it escapes me) by doing a search for them.

Great people, and know their equipment like the back of their hand.

I'm sorry about your dealership woes, the John Deere Conglomerate in Central Ohio, if you go to their HQ/Main Dealership, they're not very helpful either, so naturally they don't get my money unless I have to buy something.

I have had good luck with an AGCO dealer in Sandy Lake, PA. Sandy Lake Implement. If you call them they can ship you whatever you need. Friendly and very nice folks. Tim
