Question about Ferguson SKO20 plow

I was at an auction yesterday and bought a field cultivator. It is a Ferguson SKO20 with eleven shanks. It was surprised that the crop shields were still with it. I have a question about it. There is a short extension on the middle bracket that holds the plow shanks. I was looking on the Internet to try and find out what this extension was for. The one picture that I found with something on the extension showed it had a coulter. The picture wasn�t very good. What goes behind the coulter? It looks like there is just another plow shank, but that doesn�t make any since. Can anyone tell me about this?

BTW, does anyone know what color the paint was originally on this plow? It doesn't even have a speck of paint left on it. I was really surprised that of the shape that it was in. Except for the paint, it looks like it was just shipped from the factory. It doesn't have a bent place, scrap or weld on it.

The Ferguson SKO20 used a steel fin to keep the cultivator following the tractor, the fin is replaceable and has 3 bolt holes in it, a disc was available if you had trash on top so it did not drag debris along.

Hi Jerry. That coulter is called a rolling, steering fin. It is for use in "fields where trash and high weeds are a detriment." This is qouted from my Model 220 manual.
