The gear is #3567-A It is shaped like a cone on the opposite side of the gear teeth, those of which are set at a bevel or angle. The cone has 2 slots cut into it an opposite sides around 3/8th wide by around 2in. The center hole is around 1in dia. I loaned the planter out to my preachers son. I came home to find it setting there. I thought it was in the same shape as when I loaned it. Didnt know till I used it that #1, it wouldnt plant, ie, the gear that runs from the axle to the shaft driving the planter drive wouldnt engage. I worked with it down in the field for some time, then brought it back up to the house. I tore into it just enough to try to get it working again so as to get the corn planted. it was VERY Hot, and I didnt want to spend the day working on it and not getting the corn planted. Went back down and tried again. No go. Finally brought it back and really tore into it. Found a spring that had broken in the wheel housing. Found one at the shed and replaced it. Went back down and found that tho it now drove perfectly, that at the end of the field it wouldnt disengage, engage. Took it back to the house, and discovered that a spring on the wheel shaft was weak, BUT that it was between 2 sets of gears. The fertilizer drive set had a set screw and the gear could be moved somewhat. I did this and had no further trouble. Went down to the field, made 6 rounds. Checked the fertilizer hoppers. Not a granual had been dropped. Looked below, and the gears was missing. Dumped the fert back into the pk and one of the gears fell out, so the corn didnt get fertilized. Ill never loan out anything again. Never have before till this. Ive had this planter since 1966, and it works like a charm NOW
