Kuhn owns Knight MFG and having Gehl's products would put Knight in the dominating position. Kuhn already sells Gehl it's cutterbars. Kuhn does have interest in Gehl's balers.

John Deere has also experssed interest in some of Gehl's products.

No one mentioned manure spreaders. Knight and Gehl have always gone head to head on v-tank manure spreaders. If Kuhn/Knight picks up Gehls equipment line they will have the market on v-tank manure spreaders. Gehl makes New Hollands v-tank spreader. These machines have many uses from small dairy farms to large composting operations. I don't know a farmer yet that would go back to a box spreader after owning a v-tank spreader.

Here in the US at least Deere builds their own disk mower conditioners at their Ottumwa, Iowa hay equipment plant (about 25 miles away from me) but I was thinking they build their 3pt mounted disk mowers overseas somewhere and while they build them themselves they are a Kuhn design that they pay to use the rights to.

Kuhn builds all of John Deere's cutterbars, even Frontier. Even the MOCO discbine bars are made by Kuhn. JD assembles the MOCO cutterbars here in the states but they are 100% Kuhn. They do not show up anywhere else in the world because they leak with age and the seals need to be replaced and are often traded at that point in time.

On the John Deere disc mowers that I have seen, there is a tag that says "manufactured by Kuhn.

We all know dealers have the best manufacturer info on the planet. Add Gehl and Kuhn's market share for disc cutters together and you still come up no better than third. Hardly dominant. What does Gehl have in its red line that Deere would want?

Look at Knight's products, not Kuhn's hay tools as mentioned. Gehl's "Feedmaking" equipment is what Knight/Kuhn wants. Kuhn has no interest in Gehl's hat cutters. What would be sold is Gehl's intellectual property and manufacturing machinery.

Deere has expressed interest in Gehl's forage harvesting equipment before.
