I bought a good strong H. Now I need a plow and planter. I'm planning on going to swap meet in Lesuer MN. Any advice on what to look for to make sure I get functional equipment.

a farmall h will usally pull a 2-12 or a 2-14. if you have the one way hydraulics you can find or make a hydraulic plow out of an old trip plow. i have put cylinders on many old trip plows. so if you want to make life easier you can do this. We also used an old 2 row planter and a 13 row jd bean drill to plant with our h.

If you have hydrolics on the H then you can use a cylinder lift plow or planter, do not have to be trip type. Just unless you have very easy plowing ground do not buy a 2-16" as it would be overloading your tractor. We always pulled 2-12" here in heavy clay, second or third gear with the 11-12.4 X 38 tires, if you have the oversize 12-13.6 X 38 or larger that people like to put on then first or second gear so don't buy too big that you can't pull it
