new to this site, have a little trouble getting around, so an e-mail would be helpfull as i usually can't find previous posts. heres the question, i have one of these old mowers, mounted on wheels. its in really good shape other than the carrier bearing on the drive shaft is missing. no luck finding the part through any of our dealers, they said they quit making this bearing in the '70's. if i only had the old bearing i might could match something up. anybody out there that can help me?

only ID i find on the mower is a metal plate reading,
ser. no. M-147518
no. 254
lot no. PM-145 i would assume its a 254, but know nothing about these old mowers. i"ll try and get a picture up if i can figure out how

That shaft telescopes to the rear of the bearing, right? Get a roller bearing that matches the shaft, get two flangettes that match the bearing, mount it on a flat steel plate and mount it to the mower frame with a hinged assembly. Something like that on an AC 66 combine, Rotobaler, Gehl field chopper, etc.
