I bought a carryall and dirtscoop that have categ one lower lift pins and small toplink holes. I unbolted the lower lift pins to slide in categ II pins, but the threaded shank was too big to slide in. Does someone make reduced shank categ II pins? or, I saw on one of the pins (only 1 darnit!) that it had a sleeve/bushing slide over the small categ I pin to make it a categ II diameter. Where can I find more of these??? Tractor supply doesn't carry them, hmmmm. As for the toplink, can I change the implement end of the toplink to categ 1?

Thanks for any help!

All 4 tsc stores in driving distance from me have the cat 1-2 bushings, as well as the bushing you put ont he cat 1 toplink pin to make it fit the cat 2 toplink.

Tractor Supply has a pin with a Cat I threaded end and a Cat II on the end where the clip goes in (smooth end). I've bought them there. If you don't have one of these stores around you then I would think your dealer either has them or can get them for you. No drilling and no bushings that way. As for the top link pin, either a bushing or make the hole in the implement bigger to fit a Cat II pin. I did this on four implements when I got a bigger tractor and it worked fine for me. I still use a bushing on the top link of the bush hog/shredder though.
Good luck,
mee

The local TSC store as well as most of the dealers here have the pins with the smaller threaded ends as well as the reducer bushings.

I found some at my New Holand dealer and I think the Agco dealers have them to, should be cheaper than new pins. On my 185 & 200 AC tractors I have to remove the sway blocks so the lift arms will swing in enough to hook it to cat. 1 impls. Don't know what kind of tractor you have so that may not be a problem for you.

Northern tool may have what you need on their website. The Tractor Supply here in Georgia carrys the bushings. For 3 point stuff go to doublehh (dot) com. They should have what you need as well.

Good Luck,

Bruce,

You can go either way (supply houses can get the pins and/or bushings) or do you have access to a large drill?

For the long haul, I'd have the honkers drilled out. That way you don't have to be fiddlin' with 'em back and forth all the time in the future.

Just my take,

Allan

I'll pass my 0.02$ along too, unless it is a something that needs precise holding, just mount it on the Cat 1 pins, I always have, the farmer next door did for 30 years.

Never noticed any wear and it lets them hook up easier too.

I liked your idea the best. Didn't cost anything! Thanks for all the replys. I found bushings at a new holland dealer. AND, i will doublecheck TSC and if they do have then on the shelves, I will point them out to them. 2 ppl were helping me over the phone, both seemed eager, but maybe didnt look hard enough. This store is inside city limits too much, really for yuppies I think!

Thanks for the replys!
