What would be the ideal plow for an 8N tractor
to plow a few acres of sod and possibly some rocks?

Don, a 2 bottom moldboard plow is what the 8N was made for. You can buy new plows from Kingkutter or lots of other brands from Farm supply stores or even the old Ferguson/Dearborn are available used.
If you are cutting sod though, you might what to be sure you get some coulters wheels on the plow to slice the sod.

Thanks Dave in Mo for the reply. I've become somewhat overwhelmed with the advice and recommendations here in Southeastern PA. For example: jointer no jointer, 12" share but not 14", razor blade share not castiron, any mounted plow will work but a Dearborn is best. Dearborn parts cannot be found etc. etc. I'm still looking for expert advice.

Don, I think ANY (2) bottom plow that fits the 3- point hitch is going to work for you. You're only doing a few acres so you really don't need to worry about coulter wheels or sizes. It takes me about 4 hours to do our 3 acres which is really slow but I take my time and enjoy myself. I saw a used plow in the Sunday paper the other day for $125 but most of the used ones in decent shape go for about $200. Just buy a plow and do it. You'll pick the technique up right away.

2-12s by Dearborn. No bigger. It hasn't the traction.

Thanks for the advice Gerald. My only concern is parts availability for a Dearborn. I'd love to have one.

If you find one that isn't worn out, you won't wear it out on a few acres a year. A few acres may not be enough to keep it scoured clean.

CT (888-8CT-FARM) shows shins, moldboards, shares and landsides for 12" ford plows.

Their surface is really hard so you can attack a rusty plow surface with an aggressive sanding disk on a 5" right angle grinder and only produce a polish, you won't take off excess metal. So a rusty set of plow parts isn't necessarily shot.
