I have a 9n with a loader that is run off the crank. I want to remove the whole system, do I take the rod thats going from the crak to the pump also, and is this a major job. I'm new to the tractor world. Thanks. Kevin

Yep you at least need to pull out the drive shaft. Most will just slide out when you unbolt the pump. You have to remove the 2 bolts that hold the pump to the frame and also the bolts that hold the shaft to the pump. Pull the pump off then pull the shaft out. Doesn't work on all of them but most of them it works. There are some shafts that screw in to the hub on the crank but I have never seen that type my self
