I have an old hydraulic pto mounted pump from a ford 9n backhoe. Would this be strong enough to power a log splitter, or how can one tell?

Considering some peropl erun splitters off of the 2.85 gpm and 4gpm pumps on N and hundred series... I think the average user woulf be happy with even an 8gpm pump. Hoe's have some pretty big cyls.. lots of volume to move 2-3 cyls at once to get swing, boom and curl all at once..

Well if it worked a back hoe it probably puts out 1500-2500 PSI but the GPM may be low. GPM could be as low as 8GPM up to around 25GPM. So yes it would work a splitter but it may be slow if its a low GPM pump
