When setting up a 3 pt. 2-12 plow, Should the distance between the inside of the right rear tire to the inside of the first plow point be 12 inches? Do I have this set right? Thanks , Ken

JD book says 23 1/2" from inside of the right tire to the centerline of the tractor for a twelve inch
plow . If Plowing deeper than 8" Add one inch to this dimension,

Hi Kenny,

I'd give 'er a little more, like 14" or so to allow for tire "squash", etc.

I've got mine set with two inches "too much" and I think I should have gone maybe even 3" over. Its hard to drive it with that sidewall rubbin' the furrow wall all the time and still get the proper bite.

At any rate, you want it so that the first bottom takes it's full fair share (12") of cut.
