It is sad to hear. The West Bend plant is not shutting down. I know this a while a go and was told to keep my mouth shut. I work at a gehl dealer. They only made 10 percent profit for the ag line and 90 precent in constuctoin part. A lot of farmers are mad around my neck of the woods. Gehl made a very good choppers.

Wonder what will happen to parts? Lots of Gehl Choppers, disc mowers, round balers, and V spreaders round here. Then again my area has a growing number of small dairy farms(under 100 cows). Go figure.

Some other company that may have already been making the parts may still make them for another aftermaket parts supplier. If there is a demand for the parts the aftermarket will grab their share of it and sell the parts.

According to the press release, sounds like they are going to continue to support parts for their implement line of equipment. There were also contact phone numbers there, you could always call them and ask..

What dealer will want to stock parts for Gehl equipment? The cold hard facts are Gehl did their dealers wrong the way they left them with Hay Equipment on their lots at the time of year that they would have the most inventory. Many of these dealers will just tell Gehl to come get the stuff because Gehl hurt the dealer's ability to make money on hay equipment. Gehl knew they were going to do this 6 months ago and if I were a Gehl dealer I'd sue them for damages. New Gehl equipment just lost 20-30% of it's value and the used equipment lost 40-60% of it's value with the Gehl's action on Monday.

you know its sad... they were still making a profit.. just not a huge one... I just dont get it.

If the average person was to quit doing things because they were not making "ENOUGH" profit at what they were doing... there wouldnt be any rural Mailcarriers, no School bus drivers, NO teachers, NO HONEST POLITICIANS oops dont know any of those....
