Are these any good and how much are they worth/
I've found a nice looking one, he says it's only
baled about 500 bales a year since new.

I paid $700 for one at a MF dealer's going out of business auction about 1988. I've baled up to 3000 bales a summer. I've spent a lot of time adjusting the knotter and I have it doing about 100 bales between misses. I can't cure it of tying a bow on one side, and once in a while that one fails. I just toss the flakes of the bale on the next windrow and bale them again. Though I do carry pieces of baler twine with a loop tied in one to hand tie rapidly to save the bale sometimes. Like all balers its destructible by debris, rust, and neglect.

The dealer was asking $2250 before his auction.

I purchased used one several years ago that had been well maintained. Spent the two years fighting with one knotter. Agree with Gerald!
Finally changed the spring tension and keep it running right up to PTO speed at all times.
4,000 bales last year 50-60 lbs. Missed only a few. I hope to change the "bearing" in the feeder forks this spring and use this machine for many more years

On the other hand, had NH 66 for years and never any serious knotter difficulties.

I went down and picked it up, traded in my old NH 66 . I think it ought to be a lot faster. Has anyone else heard that NH going to stop making parts for the older equip. I heard it from my NH parts guy. Thanks for all the help,it looks alot better in the shed than the NH. Jeff
