Flat belts

Does anyone have aneed for some endless belts? While cleaning the shed the last 2 weekends, we just kept throwing 3 belts from one side to the other again, and they don't do us a bit of good. I have no idea what condition they are in, because the last tractor w/ a belt on it was traded off for our 285 before I was born, and I assume it wasn't used for probably 10-20years before that for belt work.

Any idea on value? Anyone interested? I'd hate to throw them away if they can be used some where.

6" are for farm tractors, 8" are for steam engines with higher HP, either if not rotten and rubber type are worth money, The old canvas type if not used for years will split wide open when used especialy if on a small pully and an endlass belt is working length of about 1/2 of total length and the total length of full loop of belt will measure 3' less than sold as length for to take care of the splice. So a 100 ft belt will measure 97' devided by 2 = 48.5' and subtract the height of pullys (If both are about 12" in diameter then subtract 2' from the 48.5' and you will be able to have the pullys about46 feet apart. Hope this helps you to know what you have

Don: What widths and lengths do you have? Personally I'm not interested, but do have a friend looking. If you put these up for auction which I agree, you should, kindly let me know and I'll pass the info along. He is looking for an 8" belt over 100'.

I"m not sure how long they are, but I think they just might be 8". There is atleast 3 of them laying around. I guess I"ll have to unroll them and put a tape on "em to see what they are.
