What brands are good? Are parts hard to find? Need to chop foodplots. Planted corn, grain sorghum and mixed forage and grain sorghum...want to chop this Spring. What kind of price do they bring at farm sales? Located in Southern MN....Thanks

mnioe, Go get a Rhino SR-15 Batwing shredder. They are tougher that tough. We run ours with a JD 4230.
We cut TREES with it, I mean multi-trunk cedars 8 to 10 ft high single trunks up to 4in in some instances. So someone just shredding corn/milo stalks, it will be more than adaquate.
A good one at a farm sale, not already torn-up should run somewhere from $4000 to $6000.
Anything less than $4000, has already had a life and may need a lot of reserecition work.
Ours is sbout 15 yrs old, parts are readily available for it. The CaseIH dealer is our local Rep in our area. They can get factory parts and is some instanceses, aftermarket parts too.
