I put this over on the Case forum and one reply said it looks like a BTA. I can"t find any reference to a BTA model plow on this site. Anyone have any information on this one or what it"s specs might be?

Hi John S-B. i looked at the pictures of you plow. it has the original paint,it was a darker green. mine is too. case changed models and the color in 1958. your plow is a BER,made for the SC and DC tractors with eagle hitch. the difference between a BER and a BE is the adjustment link on the center link mast and the back of plow. it is like JD's plow except his isn't set up right. JD's also has coulters like i have never seen on a case plow. i think his has been repainted,it looks more like JD two cyl. green. someone on here says case green is close to oliver green. i have seen where Dupont list case green as being the same as JD green. i have a quart of old paint,it says case green, that has never been opened. it is genuine case paint from JI Case. it was given to me by Gean Morning, owner of Madrid Body Shop. he and his Dad were a case dealer in the 50'S. i don't know what that paint looks like. hope this helps some. ask if you want to know some more. charley.

I was'nt sure about the paint 'cause it has orange on it too. Does anyone still carry new bottoms for this plow? Mine has had new shins welded in, works great but not real pretty. I got that thing for $25.:^)

Hi John. where is the orange paint at on your plow? in the picture it looks all green to me. i bought my plow years ago and it had good paint on it. it is weathered down now. it is all green. i know i man that had a 2x14" eagle hitch plow for 51 VAC. he was Gene Morning. they sold the tractor and plow new when they were a case dealer and a few years later the guy sold it back too them. they never used the plow. it was all green. i have never the BER plow but i do have bkack and white pictures of it. i have a case sales book on SC-DC equipment. the best i know is that the eagle hitch plows are all green until 1958 when the came out with new plows with the 800 tractors. then they painted them flambeau red and if they had tires the wheels were desert sunset. i have one of those,a CH 3x16" pull plow. John look on the back of the moldboard towards the outer end and find the numbers stamped into it. it is which bottom and size it is. mine are EX14 and EX16. before case used the throw away lay they had a long point on the land side and the ones i have seen didn't have a shin. Tractor Supply CO. is one place that sells lays and shins for case and they are good ones. you have to know how many bolts hold the lay, share,on so count them. the EX was case's best. i have a small sales book on those. hopefully some day i can get figured out what that case green paint is it can be matched. if and when i do i will post so everyone will know. hope this helps. charley.

hi John S-B. the BER plow was early 50'S,just before the BE plow. it is a little different. it is for the SC and DC tractors with eagle hitch. hope this helps. charley.

hi JD. i went back and looked at you plow again. it is just like mine except the coulter wheels are mounted on different. it also has the good case EX bottoms with throw away lays. your plow shure has some good paint on it unless it has been repainted. charley.

hi JD. that is model BE plow. it came out in 1955 with the 300 and 400 tractors. it was made at least thru 1957. i have the same thing in 3X14". it was made in 2-3 and 4 bottoms. the E stands for eagle hitch. that is an eagle hitch plow for a 300 case tractor. hope this helps. charley.

JD I have a BER plow that is very similar, I believe it's an earlier version of yours. Mine has an adjustable link, like a reversed toplink and the coulter wheel mounts are a little different. Other than that I think they are the same. Mine is a 2-14 plow and it has trash boards. I really like it, I use it with my Farmall M. I have pics in the tractor photo section, just put my name in the search box.
