IHC Grain Drill IHC #76 Combine

Hi everybody. I have 3 questions:

1) IHC Grain Drill: A friend of mine found one on steel out on his back 40 and offered to give it to me to restore. How much is it worth if it is complete?

2) I have a friend up in the U.P. of Michigan who is giving me an IHC #76 combine (pull behind). It will be a 6 or 7 hour drive to pick it up. Has anyone ever hauled one of these, and if so, how did you do it? I had posted a similar question earlier, but at the time I didn't know the model number and some folks asked about it.

3) Where can I get moldboards for my IHC Little Genius No. 8, 2-14 plow? Due to the weight (shipping cost) and compatability concerns, I'd prefer to get them within reasonable driving distance of Hillsdale, Mich. (southern Mich), rather than through the mail. Anyone manufacturing new ones?

I just put an older grain drill on ebay and nobody wanted it My neighbor bid and got it for about $40 and all he wants is the wheels and tires. I guess we'll junk it out. Unless the combine is pretty nice it's not worth going after. Don't have any good leads on #8 plow parts. If you find some let me know. But I do know you can't drive very far for the price of shipping.

Nebraska isn't THAT far. You have any other drills for $40? I would like an 8 footer. 10 acres isn't a farm but sure beats the city noise. Distance makes good neighbors too. Any other smaller tools? They are scarce down here in the desert. Could bring some money,might pay for the trip....?

How about a nice little 11' John Deere?

Totally rebuilt top to bottom, only has 30 acres on it since the rebuild and it works flawlessly.

I need a bigger one; email is open.

Hey Cowman, I ALMOST bid on your drills, but gas money...here on the front range of Colorado, either one of those could very well be up around $500 this time of year. Saw a decent 10 foot JD Van Brant sell last year at an auction for $900...I figured I might pick it up for around $1-200 to seed some grass, no chance there...

I'm selling an IHC 510 8" spacing with the 25 bu. box. I would take $500 for it. I can send pictures. I have a few other parts for it too.
