After all these years,I went up and pulled our old mower out of the tree line that fit on our F-20. It has the draw bar type mount, 7ft. cutter bar, has the pivoting rear steel wheel and has the v-belt drive. Could this be a model 16 they started making this model in 1940. Does anyone have a good picture off one of these mowers, I am missing the lifting handles for it,and I would like to find an owners manual for it, Thank You for your time and help on this project!!

I looked in my book 150 years of IH by Wendel, the model I have is not in the book. The frame coming back to the wheel is made of channel, the mount to the tractor is heavy flat stock, which looks like a draw bar,if you look from the draw bar to the back it looks like the letter A with 2 braces running between the channel frame rails. The piviting steel wheel on the rear has 10 spokes in it, we were always told it was made for our F-20,Wendel's book mentioned these but does not show them or tell what model they were, I checked the frame all over and can't find any nunbers, just IH stamped on rear wheel assembly and on cover over pitman arm where it attaches to cutter bar. I will try to get some pictures of it,but with my hectic days anymore this might take a while. I hope this might help a little, Thanks again guys for your help and time!!!!

Maybe a #27? They were made to fit many models including JD.

Binder-Man: It's not a 16 as they were fully mounted with no caster wheel. My book is not within reach tonight, unless someone gets it foe you I'll come back in the morning.

A little further description will help, describe the frame going to the caster wheel, is it pipe, angle or chanel.

In the book by C.H.Wendel the only mower made in 40 with the cast rear wheel is the No.12-B or No.12-QA.
The QA had some kind of quick hitch design (not the fast hitch that came out on the super C).
Hope this helps.
