i am going to an auction this weekend and they have half a dozen used haybines. I dont know much about them but 2 or 3 of them look in pretty good shape. I am thinking about upgrading from the New Idea Cutditioner that we have used for the last 15-20 years.

Does anyone have an idea of what a good price would be for them?

Also i hope weather will be a factor its supposed to rain, sleet, snow and the auction is outside

I always hope for sunshine for auctions. Farmers have other things to do when the sun shines. Some of the biggest crouds I have seen, have been on nasty days.

Jim,

Are you going to Flood's or McFadden's?

I stopped by there Tuesday and they have a pretty good selection. The NH 474 in the back row looked decent. It will be interesting to see what they bring. When I was looking for a haybine a few years ago, the selection there was pretty sparse. You may have a better shot than I did.

Be sure to check the rolls, wobble boxes, cutter bars and tinwork (for rust) over pretty closely.

I plan to be there Saturday as well, and would be glad to give you my 2 cents on the haybines, if you wish. I'll be the guy wearing a LeeBoy hat.

Hope to see you there.

Good luck,
Scott
