I posted this on the Farmall forum, but thought I should post it here also. I am seeing quite a few of these plows coming up at auctions. They go for scrap iron prices usually. This one is really nice. Is anyone still interested in these?

We had one of the no. 39's sell on a farm sale last week for $260. It was a good one.

Hi Curt, A friend of mine who is a big MM fan imported a MM tumblebug plough like this IH one afew years ago. He uses it at rally working days behind a MM UDS tractor. If you have a spare one just tie a label with my name and adress on it to the handle, take it to the docks and i will meet it when it gets to the end. Just joking. MJ

Where in Colorado are you? I would be interested in a Moline or two, that is if you said they are selling for scrap price.

I am in Boulder and this plow is in Greeley. I bought one of these a while back for a guy in Canada. He really like it and I thought I could pick this one up cheap if anyone is interested. I'm not in it to make any money, just trying to link up some people with equipment. This one would look good behind Allan's H.

Curt,

I'm thinkin' you should find yourself one of these little 3-14 spinners (or, the equivalent thereof) so you can come up here and help me upset this darned sod in the very near future.

(Thanks to Nebraska Cowman for the picture)

Those belong to Nebraska Cowman.

I just used his picture that plow that he had sent me in one of our conversations.

Allan, I have an IH model 314 which has 3x16 bottoms. It is a 2 point with brand new iron. I have only had it in the ground for a couple hundred yards. It sure makes that 560 grunt. I am going to an auction on Saturday that has the identical plow. They have a real nice 806 that I would like to get. It's not a 856, but it will do.

Yes Sir,

Now, you're talking honest-to-goodness realism here, as that 3-16 will sure put a 560 clear down into low gear and make 'er snort at times.

I finally put the 766D on the three bottom and the 966 on a four bottom Massey. They worked very well together because they both had the same gear ratios and turning at the end was kinda like a "follow the leader" ballet. Turned a heck of a lot of dirt that way. :>)

If I can get that 806, it should yank that 3 bottom around pretty easy. The way the seat is positioned on the 560, you have to be carefull when you spin that puppy around. If you are leaning back to far, you will wack yourself in the head!

You read my mind! :>)

Those are really nice plows!

Ol' Curt is workin' on a farm deal over in Iowa and I think in the meantime he should be aquiring all the equipment that he is gonna one day need. :>)

Yes sir. Just think if Curt's coming from Colorado, he can swing by my place, plow up some old alfalfa, and then we can head a little further north, and help you do some plowing. It'd be a good time.

I'm startin' to get a little nervous as how I'm gonna get this all done in a timely manner.

I'm getting a bit nervous myself, or maybe just anxious? I've got a lot to get done this spring as well. Oh well its always like that in the spring. Enjoy it while you can.

I have one and could use plow shares & land sides, especially left-hand ones.

Allan,I thought all farmers were black-smiths to some extent! IE a rose-bud and a good hammer and anvil

Curt, The flip type turning plows level better but the pic you have shown most people have out grown, I think that's why they'r cheap. I would keep it if I were you if you have a small tractor!

No,

They are cheap 'cause ya can't find a blacksmith to sharpen the lathes anymore.

Darned good old plows, tho.
