Prince PTO Pump for Loader

I've got a MF 34 loader on my IH 2400 (454) tractor. It's a 39 hp tractor. I've got a 540 and a 1000 rpm PTO shaft available to use and install Prince PTO pump. The loader has four double acting cyls. I�d say it�s a medium size loader.

My questions: Is one rpm shaft better suited for this application than the other and what gpm size pump for the application? Prince has a wide range from 12 to 21 gpm. Thanks.

You can check the specs on the Prince pump, but I seem to recall that 600 RPM is their max. That being the case, you will need to stay with the 540 shaft. I'm pretty sure the Prince pump will only come with a 1-3/8" 6 spline anyway. The last I looked there were 2 sizes of those pumps..... the 12 and the 21. Me being me, I would probably go with the 21 given it wasn't much more money.... but that will make for a very fast loader. The 12 should be more than adequate in most situations. 15 GPM is what I would really want to see. HTH.
