I have a dearborn 2 bottom plow that i got with
an old ford 800. It has a sod cutter and a trailing coulter. Works very well in new ground.
Shins and shares were replaced by j-d dealer about
5 years ago. The 800 (gas) pulled this plow thru
heavy clay soil so your 8-n ought to do good with
it.

Thanks for the reply Jim. What was involved to replace the shins and shares? Was it costly?

What in the world would you want one for? I've got a 2-12 Dearborn- can't get any replacement parts for it.

I've been told that a Dearborn plow with razor
shares is the best plow for an 8N tractor and that parts (mainly shares) are available?

Well, I went to my Ford dealer and he told me to just forget it, that the shares were unavailable and the moldboards, which I needed, are nonexistant. He's into the old stuff and woould be more than happy to take all my money, so I believed him.

You can find info in "Ford Tractor Implements" by Chester Peterson Jr and Rod Beemer, published by MBI publishing Co. I have a copy purchased through AMAZON.COM. Hope this helps.
