HELP IF YOU CAN!!!
MY MOMS BUSHOG GEARBOX HAS BROKEN.
WE BELIEVE IT IS A FORD POSSIBLY MADE BETWEEN 1959-1966 GIVE OR TAKE A YEAR, THE # ON THE GEARBOX IS 220100.
THATS ALL WE CAN FIND WE BOUGHT IT USED IN 1967, AND IT WAS BLUE THEN SO WE BELIEVE IT WAS MADE BY FORD.
ANY IDEAS ON WHERE TO GET A BOX OR WHAT MAY BE USED TO REPLACE THE GEAR BOX WOULD BE GREAT!
ALSO IT CUTS LIKE A LAWN MOWER LOW AND CLOSE WITH NO STUMP JUMPER.

I have one too. The pulleys have F1 220322 part numbers and the gearbox is 220100. I need a new shaft that holds the pulley and blade. Could use a new pulley also. I haven't had any luck finding parts though. Have you found a gearbox replacement yet?

I ahve seen gear boxes advertised in the Agri Supply Catalog. They may not fit your bolt circle but if you can weld you should be able to fix that problem.

I think I'd hit a salvage yard and find an old rotary mower with a completely rusted out deck and then check out the gearbox/SJ/blade carrier/ shaft. If they look ok.. you might get the junker for 50$ and then set out to dropping that gearbox into your unit. May have to weld up an adapter plate to get holes to align..... etc. probably no other 'cheaper' way to do it, vs just getting a used working mower.. or a new mower.. etc..

You describe the old Ford brush hog. I have one like it. I don't know about now, but up to a couple of years ago, the Ford tractor dealer (now New Holland), could still get some of the parts for them. They had to go to the old paper parts manual though. As old as that cutter is, I would not spend a lot of money on it. With no stump jumper, you'd never get your money out of it. A used cutter would probably be cheaper.
