I am restoring an old Parlin and Orendorff wood beam walking plow. Can anyone give me any info on it, specifically the paint scheme and lettering. The wood beam is aprox. 7 1/2 feet long and 3in. wide. There is a P&O. marking on the bottom of the moldboard.

You should go try the red power forum or some other place with a lot of IH info. P&O became part of IH later on. bill

At or near the turn of the 20th Century Farm Machinery of most Manufacturers was usually one of three Colors,Red-Grey-Green.Tractors of Steam or Gas vintage may of had Black and Gold accents in addition to these three colors. The wood Beam Walking Plow I restored had an Ash Beam and Hickory Handles with the Double tree of White Oak. Old timers I talked to recommended painting it Grey because they said"Most of them things were Grey"My Plow had no Markings so it got painted grey.It was very attention getting for the Older Farmers of the area I lived in.
