Hot for a drag type mower - comments or suggestion

I am a mowing fanatic. I want older drag type mower to pull behind my IH364 diesel. I have a CY60 Rhino 3-pt. type shredder but it's geared to slow and won't mow as neat and level as I've seen drag type mowers do. I've seen an old Woods model 50B that I liked. The old fella said it mowed as good as any lawnmower does. Great finish, etc. It had 3 blades more typical to a conventional push mower type blade and appeared to cut 5' or 6'. Anyone got any other model suggestions? I do have a remote hyd valve on my tractor also. I'm in Texas and would love to get my hands on one of these. Let me hear what you think.

I have a 16ft bush hog bat wing finish mower. Don't know if your tractor will pull it though

Hello,
You are talking about a finish mower, I believe. I have a 48" Big Bee that looks very good. I have used it (and take care of it) for 7 years or so. Great mower. They are about 1400 or so new. I want to go to a larger one myself. Most likely, this mower would be too small for that tractor . You need to avoid long grass with finish mowers as they tear up the belt and windrow, etc. If interested, I am in Southern Mississippi a few miles off I-10.

Actually I don't want a traditional type finish mower with wheels at each corner. The old Woods 50B model I saw had 2-15" air up tires in the rear at each corner and none in front. I want something old and heavy like this Woods. New type finish mowers I've seen are extremely light built and too expensive for my wallet. This Woods I saw had a crank to raise and lower it but the man that owned it said he had a newer style Woods just like it except it had a hydraulic cylinder to use with remotes on your tractor to raise and lower. This is what I want, the ability to raise and lower on the fly. Yes, this unit did have 3 spindles similar to your finish mower but is really designed a lot different elsewhere. I want to know similar brands/model #'s like this so I can be on the lookout for them. Seems this old stuff is much heavier built and people don't seem to want too much $ for a drag type mower. I guess it's because they are so hard to move with a trailer from one location to another.

fixitforfree,I have a 5 ft drag mower with laminated tires I would trade for your Servis mower. I can't see what brand mine is but it looks to be in good condition. Tx Jim

Jim, I might be interested in your drag mower but I plan on keeping my Rhino CY60 from now on. It is one tough mower and I need it for rough stuff. What type drag mower do you have? Is it a twin blade setup with stump jumper like my Rhino CY60 or a 3 blade style with 3 spindles like the Woods I talked about? Tell me more about it and where you're located. Is the gear box real low speed like my Rhino or not? Seems like we talked in the past about this maybe???
