Can anyone please direct me to where I can purchase the remote hydraulic cylinder, which was an option, for a John Deere #37 pull behind sickle mower? I'd like to take advantage of this option but the previous owner lost the cylinder. Thanks!

I'm with Bob. Go to TSC and buy the stock 8" cylinder. It is a red so ugly even a Farmall guy would repaint it so get yourself a can of nasty green paint too. Works fine on my JD#5 mowers.

Isn't it just a common 8" stroke remote cylinder?

Likely, a 2.5", 3", or 3.5" bore, depending upon how fast you want it to lift.

Or possibly a 2", faster but may not work with a 800# or less hydrolic system on tractor, some Farmall's had only a 450# PSI system

I'll be using this mower on either a 45' Farmall M or a 59' Farmall 560 - most likely on the 560 but the mower "came with" the M. What bore cylinder would you suggest? Thanks Very Much!

I would say go with the 3" as most companys do not make cylinders in 1/2" sizes and 3" would give you enough lift to use on any other piece of equipment you may have now or in future with either tractor unless on the M you have that verry low pressure setup and then that 3" should handle the mower or plow but probably not a heavy wheel disc altho on your big tractor it would handle a disc, if the M has the higher pressure setup then it would be the same pressure as the 560
