Anyone know anything about a Bush-Hog brand side roll (wheel line) irrigator. What are used/unused units selling for - typical 1/4 mile setup.

Never heard of a Bush Hog wheel line. In our part of the world (Western Montana) Western and Wade Rain are the more popular brands. I bought a used Western 1/4 mile unit in excellent shape with a hydraulic mover and self levelers and matched nozzles for about $4000.(New they are about $9000 and for the life of me I don't see why they are so expensive!) You can get them as low a $2000-2500, but they are not in the best of shape. Watch out for pipes that have had fertilizer mixed with the irrigation water because they are usually corroded. Find a unit with the torque clamps rather than the bolted joints. Make sure that the wheels are in good shape because they are expensive to repair or replace. Check the mover out and make sure that it is in good mechanical shape, starts ez and runs straight. If you can, get a unit with 5 inch pipe. They have less pressure drop and there fore you can get more water through them from the same capacity pump.
