Field Rake

I am clearing a field, and have root raked, box bladed, and disc'd. Now I have lots of sticks and root pieces. I bought a 5 foot field rake to do this. is there a method to using this, or do I just drag until filled, and then lift and drag some more. It has a pivot pin, Do I drag it straight, or do I drag it on an angle.

Yeah. when you angle the rake, adjust the top link so that the rake is paralell to the ground. Kippster

I usually angle mine to the side and rake everything into a big windrow or sometimes more if the area is big. Then straddle the windrow and rake it into a pile to pick up with the front end loader. I ran heavy equipment and did ag clearing for about 8 years and that was how we always did it. Oh yeah. When you angle your rake, you will have to adjust your top link on the 3 point or you will have trouble. hope this helps.
