Hi, I have a Ferguson 2 bottom 3-pt plow. It is a 14" 14AO21 I believe. I need new shares for it, the ones with the long noses on them. I have not been able to find any reference to them, can I use regular (non-long) nosed shares if the bolt pattern lines up or is it possible to resharpen these lays. We have some blacksmiths around here yet, but I did not know if there were new ones available somewhere or not, before I talked to them. Any help will be appreciated, greatly.

thank you, in advance.

micheal

A good blacksmith can heat them and hammer them out for you. He would probably be an old timer to do it right. We used to do it about every 2nd year 40 years ago.

Michael,

I have a 3. Dearborn plow and have the same problem. Mine might be worse, in the back of the share is the number 660047M91, MF and CANADA. So I have a Dearborn plow with Massey points. The dealers I have visited have the book, but can't get the parts. The plow was made circa 1970 and then the industry went to the razorblade points. A fellow web'r did some research and told me a 16 inch John Deere point would match the bolt pattern. I'm sure they would need to be cut off. There are a lot of old farms going on the auction block around here so I'm going to keep an eye out at them for new points. Good Luck in your search!

John

Plow points with long noses are call deep suck (no pun intended). They are great in extremely hard or compacted soils where you might have a problem with your plow taking the ground. If you don't have a compaction problem, the plain shares will work find and can usually be found at most fleet and farm stores (TSC, Big R ect.) Good Plowing!
