Question on hoelscher accumulator and turning.

How does this accumulator take to small feilds with lots of turning?I also have an inline baler and a stabilizer hitch is used,does that hinder turning?

No they just become part of the baler basically,when the baler turns it just swings around with it. They are just on two dolly wheel setup. Your only main problem will be if you are turning and aht accumullator is full and is trying to dump. Your bundle will just end up in L shape etc sometimes. Otherwise it just becomes part of the baler and thats it. I have converted mine I can manually control the bed dump when I need to. Very simple to do and can go back to automatic by simply opening valves back up. this solves the corner problem etc. You might want to look at a Kuhn accumulator unit instead as it is just like having wagon behind you instead if the corner issue is going to be big factor,or just put the valves in like I did an you will solve the corners.

Rick,I guess my main concern was between the bale shoot on the baler and where the accumulatoor wagon 'catches' the bale while turning.

That will stay rigid, and won't be a problem when you turn. Sometimes you do have to keep an eye when turning, like to go through a gate as the rear end will swing way out there.

Ha,I just looked again and now see the wheels are not a fixed axle.The swivel,so now I understand.I was quoted 12k for the hoelscher set up-model 1000 and the 100 grapple.That is with no quick hitch adaptor for the grapple.I emailed kuhn to see if they have a dealer around me.They are tall but nice unit.

Plumboy; I could get you a bid in my area on the hoelscher if like. I know ther is a used unit near me and he was wanting $6000.00 I think for the accumulator. Let me know. I have my unit all tore apart right now,making few improvements to my unit. Like I mentioned earlier you need to learn how to use them. If you think you are going to the field and just bale the first time yopu are in for a BIG SUPRISE. Once you realize that and get them set correctly they do work pretty slick. The grapple part they are really nice once they are setup correctly also. I run one grapple on skidloader and the other unit is on tractor loader. PS If you do run across old farmhand grapple they will work find with the hoelscher bundles. It is designed to do eight but all you need to do is get 4 more teeth and rearange them and you can do ten on edge just like the hoelscher grapple. All I am saying is you either carry eight in the flat position or ten when you have the bales on edge. they are the same overall size wise. What size bales are you doing now. You have to make the bales to the machine, not machine to the bales. Otherwise you will get to the third bale and you will be in trouble. TRUST ME. I really can help you with these if your serious,let me know. You won't be the first let me tell ya!!!!!

You might also check out this company. We ordered a grapple from them. Can't tell you if we'll like it yet, as we haven't received it yet, but it appears very well made. They make accumulators as well.
