Is there a front loader attachment available for a 2030 and how hard are they to find? What would the cost be?

I just put a used JD 175 loader on my 2030. It"s JD"s economy loader and probably won"t stand too much abuse but it fits and works well. It is also semi quick disconnect by removing the pins at the loader pivots and lift cylinders. The frame and pillars are made together and stay on the tractor. The frame attaches to the bell housing and front of the engine only. I"d prefer the attachment at the front of the tractor and maybe rear axles but JD engineers must know what they are doing. Mine came off a 3 cylinder tractor and was too short for my 4 cylinder 2030. JD has discontinued the brackets so I had to weld extensions on to make it fit. My missing parking stand is also discontinued. The 145 looks to be a much better loader but I couldn"t find one in my price range. I had a 148 loader on a 4230 and they make utility brakets for the 148 but to me it would be too big and heavy for the 2030.

Hi David,

Care to elaborate on your 4230; what it had, how you used it, what implements you pulled with it, problems and all.

I acquired one a year ago with 38 rears and a cab. Was refurbished astetically, mechanically it didn't need it. One reason I bought it was because it was naturally aspired, rather than turbo driven like the 4430.

Comments appreciated.

Mark

Bought my first loader as a very well used JD 152 and put it on a 100 hp tractor. Then had to completely redo the hydraulics. Total cost $3600 + $800.

Sold tractor. Bought another one later and added loader. Bought NEW Koyker (in So. Dakota) this time for $3600 painted JD Green and all; delivered to the house with quick attachment function and all the JD didn't have. Day and night.

The "matched" John Deere loader for the 2030 is a 145 loader. They come with independent controls and are fully hydraulic, ie no mechanical dump. I have one on my 1976 2440 (which is in fact, the same tractor as a 2030).

Do you want new or used? I have a nice front end loader off a John Deere 2010 that will fit your John Deere for sale. This loader was stored inside, has a hydraulic bucket and is set up to run from your auxillary hydraulic valve. E-Mail me if you're interested. Don
