theres a auction comming up with a 4000 bu and a 6000 bu bin has anybody seen any sell lately thanks for your help

Seen 2 3500 bu sell for 1000.00 each.We just had nice 4000bu butler gave to us to get it out of way.But your really right on tear down prices,one contractor told me 1500.00 to tear down and 1500.00 to put back up.Me and my cousin rented jacks for 10.00 each and had it down in 6 hours, I think that was good wages.

We bought 3 4000bu bins in the last three years and paid 5 cents a bushel but they were torn down and in good shape. Our local bin constructors told us that any grain bin still standing and less than 10,000 bushels is only worth the cost of taking it down. It would cost a small fortune to rent the bin jacks to tear one down and put it back up plus the cost of bolts. Luckily a neighbor farmer has a set of jacks.

Seems 10 - 15 cents a bu is about what a used one goes for, unless there is something special.

Years ago I paid $1500 for a 3200 bushel bin, four years ago I paid $700 for a 3200 bushel bin. In between I paid $1600 for a 5500 bushel bin. I've seen many 3-4000 bins go for under a grand the last few years.
