which vermeer 504 would most closely resemble the 5400 rebel?-thanks

THe 504 Super i baler is very close to the Vermeer 5400 Rebel. They were made from 1992-1999.

Now could the super I make silage bales too? Or was it just the next baler in series following the stright "I". Was there a super I silage special baler meant for making silage rolls. When did vermeer make the wide belts standard on there balers? Did the super I have the 1 1/2 bearings or the 1 1/4"? What is an early 90's model super I baler worth in fair condition? Sorry for the 20 questions game. Just intrested in a 504I baler too if I can find one with in a 150 mile radius of southwest Michigan.

Super I Balers made before 1992 likely have the 1 1/4" lower drive roller shafts. Also during this time the Silage I baler was available and has 1 1/2" lower drive shafts in it.
We have a customer that baled 2500 silage bales a year from 1992-2002 with no problems. He traded for a 504XL. His old baler sold immediately.

Most Super I balers have spring tension. They still will make a rock hard bale that is hard to spear. Good used Super I balers do not last a week on our lot. They are in high demand. The Super I baler will bale haylage & corn stalks.
