Are these good disks? What are they worth? It has manual fold. The blades are supposed to have decent wear left, but the tires are down to the cords.

The 480 was an excellent disk. If the springs are adjusted right, one man can easily fold the wings. The 37 was the first IHC disk of the bolted spring steel angle iron frame design which gave excellent performance. The 48 was brought out as a heavier disk of the same design. This design later included the 370(upgraded 37), 470, 480(upgraded 48), and 500, each progressively heavier but all of the same bolted angle design.

They are good disk, If you adjust the spings right there not hard to fold for transport. Another good thing is if you get some really tough ground you can leave it folded up, will cut like the devil! The difference between the 7" and the 9" spaceings is one is a pulverizing and the 9" is a cutting disk! For many years your always saw red disk behind green tractors because they were so much better

480's are a good disc..they dont bring much anymore..depends on the blades..all the way from 500 to 1200 dollars..they were a good heavy disc in their time..years ago I put a winch on the back to raise the wings, seemed to work good..depends on your ground and what you will pull it with..7 or 9 inch spacings? 9 inch needs to be pulled at least 5-6 mph in order to cover trash..7 inch can plug up like some other disc do..
