David: Send me an e mail with photo of what your looking for. I am looking for some of the same, just never know what I might see.

Yes I am going to plan on the 18th, send me a civic address and vague driving directions. For example am I best taking I-94 towards IL or heading I-75 towards OH. I'll probably take country roads, better sight seeing, but I like to keep within 20 miles of one Interstate or the other. I tend to get wrapped up in the countryside then have to head for Interstate to make it where I'm going on time. If I find plow pieces here or along the way, that could help both of us.

David: I think that depends a lot on where you live. Here in SW ON the first place I would go is TSC Stores. I also think that depends on staff. We have one TSC managed by an ex IH partsman. He is excellent on plow parts. I took my old wear parts in, he took numbers off back of part, plus matched it with diagram he had. You had to enter size of each hole, type and measured distance from one hole to the next. Within 4 days I had all the new parts I needed, and they fit perfect. I'm told he is just as good on Deere, MH, Oliver, etc. He also told me those parts were coming out of Iowa, and they manufactured as needed on slower moving parts. That being the case, someone near you must know.

My advice is find the individual, not the store. Guys like the fellow I go to are getting scarce. They have to be commited to old iron. I know the first time I ever went there, most of the staff didn't have any idea how to do this, but advised me to come back when Joe is in. Joe is quite active in plowing days and match competitions. Those are the guys to look for.
