Electric Wheel Trailer

I purchased this trailer on Ebay a week or two ago for $125 and finally made the trip to pick it up yesterday. I'm very impressed with the way it's built, obviously meant to be used and abused. It has a tag on the rear axle with the name Electric Wheel Co. and also has a model number as well as a serial number. On a brace for the front axle is a decal or label that I can barely read that says Electric. Tried to look around on the internet to see what I could find out about it and of course about all I find is posts right here on YTMag. Curious if there is any information where I could find the year model etc. The bed appears to be made of tongue and groove lumber, and the side rails drop down into stake pockets. The upper side rails appear newer, and I also got the matching top rails for the front and rear not showing in the picture here.

years ago I had a bunch of these running gears under cotton trailors, be sure and keep the front end greased where it turns, it will turn a pick-up truck over!

How ironic is that? It seems on my way home with this newly acquired trailer I blew out the left rear tire on my truck. Guess what brand tire it was? Yep, a Firestone. It did a nice job of adjusting the fender for clearance now. Clearance of what I'm not sure though.
