Looking at a 2 year old machine, light use, owner sold farm. I prefer this roller machine (not an impeller) as we will be making some alfalfa and legume-grass hay. Have about 100 acres of hay to cut.

How do these mower conditioners compare to the New Holland and Kuhn machines? Any good or bad experience with this series.

Thanks for your assistance.

I've heard good things about 5209's. They seem to be durable, simple to work on, and don't require as much HP as similar machines.

I don't have any experience with NH or JD mowers, but I can say that the New Idea mowers are very good machines and fairly easy to work on. They have been very dependable as long as I have been around them.
