Hey guys wondering what the opinion of a NH 638 round baler. One for sale near me looks almost like new. Dealer says it is a repo and not many bales were put through it. It makes 4x4 bales. I was wondering if it could make silage bales also or if their was a kit available to make this happen. I know its no comparison to Allan"s baler but I think it will work for me. Thanks in advance and have a great weekend

Light duty, no frills baler. Silage Special was an option, if it has 4 bolt wheel hubs, it is not a silage baler. Manual controlled electric tie. OK for the small producer; not for big production. Neighbor sold a two year old 644 to a guy for big bucks and turned around and bought a new 638 thinking he did a big stroke of business. I laughed right in his face when I was out there trying to "fix" his new 638.

Hi CT,

I am so stuck in 1983 that it isn't even funny. Can't help it, that's where I am. :>)

Found a picture of your baler. If it says New Holland anywhere on the dude, it's gotta be okay, doesn't it? :>)
